Heath Ledger

Someone at work asked, "Why would he kill himself, what does he have to be depressed about?"

People have no clue. They believe public persona's that don't mean anything. All the public sees is the ex-wife, child, and a man that makes movies and get some recognition for his work. They don't see the heaviness, burden and strain on your relationships and partnerships. Emotional support is an important part of your sanity in the entertainment business. On his level he's got lots of people around him, but possibly not a lot of support. Plus he's a long way from home.

My heart goes out to his family and friends.

I became a fan after Brokeback Mountain. He gave a layered, intense performance that year and was robbed of his Academy Award. Phillip Seymour Hoffman won that year for his caricature portrayal of Truman Capote. I couldn't wait to see him bite into another juicy role. I was surprised to see him in the new Batman movie as the joker no less (check out the pic).

Rest in peace.

I can't help but to be reminded of River Phoenix's tragic death.

Time's a Wasting

by Erykah Badu

Time's a wastin
Don't you take your time young man
Keep on driftin and
Ain't no tellin where you'll land

Run baby, run, run
Where you runnin to?
And who you runnin from?
Some people may not understand
What it means to be a man
Takin' full command
Cause we're

Livin in a world that's oh so strange
Boy don't let your focus change
Takin out the demons in your range, hey
Livin in a world that's oh so fast
Gotta make your money last
Learn from the past, oh

I've been feeling an itch lately that needs scratching. My full time job is not very fulfilling (survival job) and my other gig is annoying (on the management side). How hard is it do what you say you're going to do? Oh well, at least I enjoy the job itself.

Thanks Hadi, last week I was rediscovering "new" Madonna albums, "Ray of Light and Music". This week I'm looking to Ms. Erykah Badu for inspiration. I've liked her since February 1997 when I heard On and On. I saw her live at a local nightclub in my hometown back in 1997 and was hooked. she's connected, intense and has a great sense of timing when performing. Her Live album and Mama Gun are inspirational because of the questions she asks and her lyrics i.e. "my eyes are green cause I eat a lot of vegetables."

So when I heard from Hadi about the new album, I made sure you set a few coins aside for when it's released on February 26th. That's two albums that day.

Janet Jackson and Erykah Badu!!!

I better save my money!!!!

Full Moon

**The energy today is very weird. I feel murky, slow and melancholy. I looked at the calendar and saw that it's a full moon. That explains some things.

Click the link to read Psychology Today's take on the full moon. Guess whatever I'm going through is a manifestation.

Below is a description of the full moon for today.

Our full moon in Leo shows a fair concentration in the air signs, and other signatures indicate a more fruitful time for mental activity.

Currently, Pluto is tipping over into Capricorn, and is forming tense aspects with a conjunction to Venus, both opposite Mars in retrograde. There is a burgeoning sense of unrest, violence and rawness. Review your boundaries, especially in relationships and sex. Know them well because this lunation might strain them.

**I feel strained now, exhausted emotionally and can hardly concentrate. It could be because I'm back to work and the people in this office are crazy. Yeah that sounds more like it.

Capricorn Horoscope for week of January 17, 2008

When Doris Lessing was informed she'd won the Nobel Prize for Literature, she said, "I couldn't care less." What prompted her to be so blasé about receiving the world's foremost award for writers? Can you imagine what her state of mind was? I think you'll be able to after this week, Capricorn. You're likely to get a major ego stroke that isn't all that big a deal to you, mostly because you already know how valuable you are and don't need external confirmation of that fact.

Did you know????

That's all I want to know, who knew.

All I knew was that I was going to Rosa Mexicano with friends...

Dinner was great. I had the Tablones 18 oz. of grilled boneless beef short ribs served with a mestiza sauce (tomatillo-tomato-chipotle) and rajas (slow-cooked Mexican peppers). It was delicious. One of the highlights was the guacamole prepared table side. I don't know why I didn't want to bring my camera. (pictures are on the way).

After dinner we headed to a place to have desert. We were going to Max Brenner's but there was a wait for over two hours (I know ridiculous). We chose a place called Chocolat Michel Cluizel at 19th and Broadway. We had these cocoa martinis with brownies and truffles. It was delicious.

Tasha comes over who's a friend of Matt's and says there's a party at Union Bar. I was up for it so we left the chocolate place and Luis (our cute server with pics to come). It was convenient and on the way to a bar in the east village. We enter the bar/lounge, head to the back of the bar and this is what I hear....

SURPRISE!!

I looked and saw over 40 friends from my hometown, theatre and friends I met in new york. I was speechless. I never had a surprise party before. Yes, I cried. LOL

After the bar we went to a club called Secrets and danced and boy watched for the rest of the night.

People kept asking if I knew, but really I didn't. I was floored and so grateful. I have some amazing friends!
