ASPCA

Today while I was headed here (Grounded) during my lunch break I passed an ASPCA presentation. I've always thought about getting a dog, but currently don't have one because I'm never home.

It's interesting that you have to apply to take in a dog and if you're approved you'll be allowed to adopt one.

All I have to say is that same model needs to be applied to people wanting children.

I have to take a moment and recognize the man that was a figurehead of change for this country. This day in 1968 someone chose to silence him.

Take a moment today and think about a way you can change this country for the better.

Bear bust could have been 'disastrous'

JPMorgan's Jamie Dimon and Bear Stearns' chief defend extraordinary deal. Bear was on verge of a collapse that posed risks for markets and economy.

the reason the "feds" prevented Bear Sterns from collapsing was to protect the interests of the rich. To say that if the rich lose money the poor and middle class will be affected is like saying if the poor lose money it affects the rich.

The rich could care less about the poor. They actually don't want any handouts given to them for an extended period of time, but it is okay for them to receive 29 billion dollars from the people of the United States. Some of that tax money is coming from people who's homes have been foreclosed on.

It's criminal.

NYC United for Peace & Justice

A few weeks ago I was on a lunch break in 14th Street and saw these people linking has across 14th street. Basically a silent protest against the war. It was great. I'm anti work and if it wasn't work I would have loved to have locked hands in protest. Below is their link with some stats:

New Yorkers have paid $46.9 billion for the Iraq War thus far. $720 million dollars a day is being spent. $500,000 a minute.

Think of the lives that would be saved if we ended this occupation and found Osama bin Laden like we set out to do. How many deaths does it take.
