Blog Action Day

What a great idea. Blogging for the environment. I'm spreading the word. If you have a blog, show the world, on October 15th, how the environment affects your life. I think it's a great idea.

Another Movie to See

My roommate and friend told me about this movie. Now, after watching the trailer, I must see it.

For Good

It was a blessed day today. I woke up, went to work, got taken out to lunch by my straight boyfriend, and then a friend that works in the building takes me to see Wicked the musical.

I truly believe that what you put out in the universe comes right back at you.

Wicked, the musical is based on The Wizard of Oz. The musical as a whole isn't the best. The book and music don't always mesh and there just too much attention paid to spectacle and not enough to character development. I suggest you read the book before you see the show. That said, I love some of songs.

  • The Wizard and I
  • I'm not that Girl
  • Defying Gravity
  • As Long as you're Mine
  • No Good Deed
  • For Good
Last night's performance haunted me. The last song, For Good is about friendship and forgiveness. The excerpt below of the lyrics go out to all my friends, new and old that I've met this year. You know who you are. Much Love

I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you

Naked Boys Singing Fo Real

Just so you have a visual. ;-)

Naked Boys Singing on Film

Catchy title isn't it. This show has been running for as long as I can remember. The movie, that's right, the movie is coming out this Friday, October 12th. I'm so curious. Will they be nude the whole time?

Baby Switching

Private Practice aired a show about two babies that were mixed up and given to the wrong family.

You've waited nine months for a baby and when it arrives you love it. Ten months later you find the hospital has, hopefully by accident, mixed babies and you've been loving another couple's child. Talk about dramatic conflict for a play.
  • How do you sever those emotional bonds with one child and move them to your biological child?
  • Who do you blame?
  • How much money should be rewarded for your pain and suffering?
Talk about current stories!

Leave it to the Children

I teared up when I saw this. Jews, Christians, Muslims coming together for a moment of prayer, meditation, reflection. Coming together isn't about religion it's about spirit, life force or whatever gets you up in the morning. Check this out!

If only adults could do the same. It sounds so simple, but really why is it so hard?

Fall Weather

I love the Fall, because it's cooler with less humidity. The only problem is how do you dress for it?

Take this morning for instance, I woke up at 7:15am and did the usual. I ironed my shirt, while I watched some of America's Top Model (which is boring). 7:30am shower and then at 7:45am I get dressed and race out of my apartment to catch the downtown train that comes at approximately 8:07am. I was prepared to catch it, but couldn't pull it together. I ended up on the 8:13am train.

In my mad dash to make the train I didn't check the weather on NY1, but I knew it was going to be in the high 60's. I left w/o a jacket and only my dress shirt, etc. I didn't feel how cool it was until I got out of the train in midtown to walk to work. That was after I was sitting down in the train for a half hour. Even thought I like this transitional weather, I'm not fan of taking a jacket, "just in case". In the summer or winter, either you need a jacket or you don't.

Janet's New Movie

If you didn't know, now you do. I love Janet Jackson and she's in a new movie this weekend called Why did I get Married. Tonight I got a pass for an advance screening at the AMC 25 Theatre in Times Square. It was ridiculous. Not only the line, but the people in line. I waited for an hour and a half and nothing.

I'm so grateful for my iPod. It's those moments when the iPod comes in handy.

Long Time No Blog

I know it's been a while, for me at least. Work has been keeping me busy at work and I've been social. So when I get home, I watch a little TV and it's time for bed.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. I should be back posting later today.

Kabul, Afghanistan's Effect

I guess it's true that art affects the world.

I feel for the children from The Kite Runner. They are actors and just wanted to do a good job. For that to be taken and used against them is absolutely crazy. Considering the comments of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad it's no wonder that those actors should get out of Afghanistan.

God's speed!
