Big Brother 8 - I'm Done

I don't like the last two contestants. Danielle should win, but who cares. I hope Nick found someone else, so she's disappointed when she gets out. I know that a terrible thing to say, but this woman cries about everything. Of course she doesn't get a long with her Dad, because he doesn't give her everything she wants.

Oh well, another season bites the dust.

Note to production: Sit in a room and brainstorm on improving the format. Do something completely different! Here are my suggestions:

  1. Keep Big Brother After Dark!
  2. Keep questions to house guests.
  3. Overnight competitions (during BB After Dark) to keep the contestants guessing
  4. Cameras in the sequester house as well as the BB house
  5. No veto competitions or have select weeks with veto option
  6. Immediate nominations after HOH is won
  7. Men and Women's only room, but have a shortage of beds. ;-)
  8. Competition to overthrow/replace HOH!
  9. On going game (chess/checkers) where the winner wins slop pass.
  10. Two Fast Forward Competitions
  11. Call it Big Brother Overdrive!
  12. Give them more money throughout and at the end!

Greedy Greedy Greedy

Where were the airwaves owned by a private company.

America is crazy. Verizon is suing the FCC so the public can't choose their own carrier and phones. Given the choice, Americans would not choose Verizon. By suing Verizon is showing how scared they are...of choice. I think every American should sign up with the Google phone (my prediction) when it comes out. Maybe Verizon will start to appreciate it's customers.

Missing a Chip

You can't tell me that this worker thought this was okay. Someone pissed him off.

When people are serving you food you must be nice no matter what. If the service is that bad, leave. I waited tables when I was in college and I saw servers pick up food from off of the floor and put it back on the plate to serve. The main reason, rude people at their tables. None of the workers around them said a thing.

Remember that.

A Question

An article in backstage.com called "New Faces of Drama" discussed playwriting with a panel of promising playwrights. I was inspired by one of the participants' comments:

Sarah Treem, on the other hand, said A Feminine Ending, which will receive its world premiere at Playwrights in October, is totally drawn from personal experience. "One of my teachers said to try and figure out what is the dramatic question of your life at the moment," she said. "At any given moment there is something that you are obsessing about, and a lot of times you don't even know what it is until you start writing. I had just graduated from school and a lot of good-intentioned people were telling me it's going to take women longer. So my question was, well, why?"

The dramatic question? Goodness, a couple of plays can come out of that one.

Horrific

My aunt brought this article to my attention.

Do you just wake up in the morning and decide to feed another human being feces. Where do you learn or think it's okay to do this? I wonder if they planned to kill her eventually.

The woman was only 20 years old. God be with her.

Week of Capricorn

Capricorn for 9/13 to 9/19

"Dear Rob: In your book 'PRONOIA,' you say, 'The universe always gives us exactly what we need, exactly when we need it.' I have a different view. I often find that I disagree with what the Universe decides is best for me. But that turns out to be a good thing. It's fun for me to always be arguing with God! I learn a lot and generate a lot of high energy from trying to outmaneuver the divine will. What do you think about that? -Cagey Capricorn." Dear Cagey: Whatever works! I think your approach may be especially useful for your fellow Capricorns to try now. Thanks for articulating it.

Betsey Johnson

She's great. Light, fun and actually is able to reference American archetypes. She's done the cheerleeder, school girl and now she's moving to wedding cake...lol

Go Betsey!

Tell me you Love me

I watched it last night and I have to say I will set my DVR to record it.

Finally, a show that is not for children and doesn't pretend to be in any way shape or form. Right now the show is about three couples in dramatic moments in their relationships. First one, is about to get married. Second, is trying to have a baby and the third has hit a plateau.

I like looking at relationships from the outside in, so this is quite compelling for me. The graphic sexual aspect doesn't freak me out; instead, it shows how sex is a tool. On one hand it's used to have a baby, but it's also used to avoid intimacy issues and that just one couple. How many couples do you know that are trying desperately to have a baby to "repair" what's wrong in their relationship?

Overall, I'm looking forward to seeing how this flower unfolds.

Side note: Even the six-five plus year old therapist had sex on the first episode (she's in the pic). She fellated her partner. Bravo for the writers showing different types of people having sex. If you looked to TV/Movies for an indication of who's having sex, you'll think that after 40 you lose all desire.

All they need to do now is throw in some people of color, but I bet they don't have a writer to tell that story effectively and authentically.

Time will tell.

New HBO show

I'm recording Tell me you Love me tonight and am intrigued by the subject matter. I don't know how it is in other countries, but in the USA you can cut off a head and step on it (on network television) but show male full frontal nudity or sex (on Cable TV) and it gets so much press.

How High School!! The United States needs to grow up!

She does it every time

These are just some highlights from her collection for Spring 2008. She always reminds me of clothes that you would find an exceptional thrift store. That's a complement because her clothes have a modern style, without the heavy and unexceptional fabrics from back in the day. She's not afraid of color and prints either and every season her clothes float down the runway like a breath of fresh air.

Go Anna!

Hot Designer at American Fashion Week

Thakoon Panichgu's getting lots of buzz. Infact, he tons of celebrities in the audience. Supposedly, he been influenced by some of the new greats i.e. Narciso Rodriguez. I think he's got some design elements that deserve a second look, but I don't see what all the hype is about.

I'd like to see what he does for Fall 2008.

This is my favorite dress of his collection and a pic the designer himself.

Saga Continues

Larry Craig, bless his heart, I wish I could be a fly on the wall in his office. Who pleads guilty first of all without a lawyer and then decided that it was under distress.

Bury my heart at Wounded Knee

One of the best things I've seen. It haunts you.

One, because our country has such a soiled past. What would have happened if the Europeans never left Europe and left Africa and North America alone.

Two
, being the anniversary of September 11th, I wonder if the United States is having a karmic experience.

Just a thought that went through my mind as I watched the movie.

This is a line from the movie:
"The Earth belongs to the white man; there's no future outside his world"

It's not so hard to see why Native Americans would think that.

Wachowski Brothers?

Had anyone else heard about this. I say go for it!!

Click the heading.

Jake with a beard

There's not much else to say. All I can do is sighhhhhhhhh!

Brittney...The Golden Years

This was hot when it came out. The hook was catchy and this was a great introduction to this song. What moment in her life caused this to happen?

What I found interesting how the media likes to celebrities people when they're down. They are placed and a pedestal and with one misstep they fall with an impossible chance of regaining their former status.

Listen media: People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!

My prayers go out to her.

The Bubble (Ha Buah)

The plan is to see this movie tomorrow because I really like the director, Eytan Fox. Check out his other titles
Here's the trailer:
