Isn't this alarming??

Do we need Robots that are faster than humans and named Runbot. I just hope they are Autobots?

Seriously, I guess it's important to have self learning machines that run faster than human beings. Hmmmm Haven't we learned from Minority Report, iBot, Terminator, Matrix...and Transformers.

The list goes on.

Check out the BBC article.

The Anaconda Park

Yep and I'm headed there this weekend.

Kings Dominion is part of my experience as a child. I think it was the first experience with roller coasters i.e. The King Cobra and Rebel Yell. Someone died on The King Cobra years ago and they replaced it with the Anaconda (I love that name).

So, think of me this weekend eating my funnel cake. The pic is almost accurate. My funnel cake will have strawberries and whip cream. Yummy!

I should have pics of my time down there.

Laundry

It seems like Laundry is just never ending.

I have dirty clothes in the living room to remind me to do them. What is so hard about doing them. There's a 24 hour laundry place across the street, but it doesn't have wi-fi (it's password protected now). What can I do?

I can wash my clothes! One stack at a time!

I saw ads for Rick and Steve and it looks interesting. I watched it Tuesday night and I think it's off to a great start.

You've got to check it out. They really "go there".

Starscream is incredible!!

Check it out!!

More than meets the Eye

Wow. I'm so glad I saw The Transformers. I saw it with good friend of mine and we both enjoyed it. If you enjoyed Transformers, the cartoon, you will like this movie.

There's some serious causality going on with the script that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The transformations were stunning, especially the amazing Starscream. Kudos to the George W reference! I laughed out loud.

I'm glad I enjoyed one summer blockbuster because Spiderman was terrible.

Next up, I'm going to see the new Harry Potter, but first i have to watch the other movies. I'm so behind.

I Can't believe it

What the moral right has questionable morals?

Wait they are the party that Americans can trust with their families, etc.

Looks who's been sinning and check out which state he's from. No wonder things haven't changed there.

Shame on them for using morality as a basis to get votes! Karma is a bitch!

In Darfur

Monday night I went to Central Park to see the Public Theater's production of In Darfur. I love theatre that has something to say. Back in the day theatre was a way for artists to present issues to the public in a dramatic form. This evening felt like a town meeting. There were activists present. Mia Farrow was there and she was really articulate about how she got involved and her relationship to the genocide.

What is your relationship with genocide? How does genocide and the Darfur crisis sit with you. Is it okay? Can you do something? No, it's not okay to slaughter human beings and yes you can do something. During the question and answer session, a woman asked if people could spread the word about Darfur, the crisis. I thought that was the least of what I could do.

This type of theatre can change lives because people will blog, call and email about this evening to people they know. Kind of like I'm doing right now.

So, please spread the word and if you can do the three steps, do it.

  • advocate

Enjoy Life's Opportunities

That is visa card's slogan and it's oh so appropriate.

I've been pretty matter of fact about the whole immigration thing. No amnesty to people who have come here illegally, etc. I still believe that, but at work there is a very nice Taiwanese woman whose work visa has expired. She applied for her another visa and wasn't picked (due to lottery). Now's she's stressed and rightfully so. She can't get paid after the 15th and that puts the company in an awkward position. She could get paid in cash or work for free. Even if she worked for free, she would still be illegal. It's a rough place to be in.

I can see that the visa system wasn't made to keep people here on a long term basis, but to give everyone a chance to enjoy the United States. For me this humanizes the whole idea of immigrants in the country. There are good people who try to do the right thing and are still denied because the system is trying to be fair.

No matter what the outcome of this immigration mess, everyone will not be happy. I hope she has a happy ending. Pray for her. She can hardly sleep or eat.

Cheyenne Jackson, who opens in Xanadu July 10, will miss several performances of that new Broadway musical later this month.

Jackson, according to a press release, will not perform in the musical at the Helen Hayes Theatre July 17-27 due to a prior commitment. During his absence the role of Sonny will be covered by actors Curtis Holbrook and Andre Ward, alternately.

Jackson is scheduled to return to Xanadu July 28.

Dictator Bush...something wrong?

What is really going on with our President?

  1. He pardons Lewis "Scooter" Libby, who lied to the FBI (Lil Kim served more time)
  2. He uses Executive Privilege, when it isn't called for? (what does he have to hide)
Did we really put this man in office because we're afraid of two men getting married? Yes we did. Did we really vote for Bush in 2000? No, but he's still in office. Who has time worrying about the President when people are busy paying for their awful health insurance.

This country needs a change. I'll go out on a limb and say, we will finally have a Democrat in office 2008 who will make some change and shake things up, like Jim Webb!

Big Brother 8

I'm back from a getting acquainted with my new blackberry phone (more on that later)

My summer indulgence has begun. Big Brother 8 is a voyeur's dream. Where else can you watch people who forget they're being watched? They start believing the environment and given circumstances they are put in. It's such an interesting social experiment.

America needs to look to the deeper meaning. We must not accept what government tells us is real. The people tell the government what to do not the government.

My favorites right now are Nick, Dustin, Jameka. I actually don't want Carol to go, but from what I see from Showtime After Dark. Amber is really campaigning for herself. Carol needs to step it up.

If you're a fan with Big Brother, what do you think of the Showtime After Dark? I don't think I can keep up with it realistically, even with my DVR. It's essential watching because you can see relationships and alliances happen, but it's three hours everynight. This is what Big Brother is really about, no editing just watching things happen in front of your eyes. I just wish they would do split screen or something.

Let the voyeurism begin....
