Rent is closing June 1st!

The first show I saw on Broadway is closing! It will be the seventh longest running show in Broadway history.

Back in 1996 after the show won the Tony and was hot hot hot, B and I came up to New York to see it. I camped out all night at 41st street in Times Square to get our tickets and it was so worth it. I cried, laughed and hummed (lightly) along to one of my favorite songs, "Seasons of Love".

I guess now I can look forward to seeing it in community theatres and high schools.

Goodbye Rent! There will never be another like you!

Happy Birthday to me

It's 5:32am and I'm posting(I'll tell you why later) to say how much I appreciate the people in my life and the new friends I met this year!

Sweeney Todd Won

I'm so glad it won the Golden Globe for best Musical or Comedy. I hope this gives it the push it needs to get an oscar nomination.

Congrats Tim Burton and crew for doing justice to my favorite musical of all time.

**the Golden Globes were cut to an hour this year because of the writers strike (I hope they get what they're asking for). This year's show was without the lame jokes and stupid speeches (sorry actors you never prepare for the moment in my opinion).

I wonder how much NBC lost or saved by airing this trimmed down version of the show?

Red Devil Night

The Friday night plan was to I leave work and head to the neighborhood bar, where I have drinks with co-workers. Matt and I agreed to get together Friday night at a bar on 39th Street.

So, I went to the neighborhood bar, has a Stoli O and sprite and headed uptown to my apartment to change before going to the bar on 39th street.

The bar was fun. One of my favorite drinks is one called "red devil". I drank one, then another and then Matt's boyfriend bought me two more. One detail I choose to omit is that I only ate that night was some popcorn from Dave and Thomas'. I had four large drinks and no food to slow it's absorption.

Let me tell you it wasn't pretty when I left the bar. After that, I got on the subway and headed uptown. Unfortunately, I fell asleep and ended up in Queens and had to take the train all the way back uptown. I didn't walk into my apartment until 8:25am. I slept until 5:30pm.

Note to self: Eat beforehand!!
