McCain in 2003

Please don't vote for him...he's just another "good ole boy" for the rich to manipulate (like most Republicans). My thought is that if we're going to war we should do it efficiently with reference for the young people's lives that are being risked. Here's an excerpt from an interview done on Chris Matthew's "Hardball" back in 2003.

McCain was proud of Bush's leadership on the war in Iraq:

MATTHEWS: Let me you about, are you proud of the work, and the leadership of the commander-in-chief in this war?

MCCAIN: Yes, I am. I think the president has led with great clarity and I think he's done a great job leading the country, don't you all? [MSNBC Hardball, 4/23/03]

McCain talks about lessons he learned from Vietnam, lessons that apply pretty clearly to Iraq as well.

MCCAIN: ...I have been committed from my experience in Vietnam never to get into a conflict that the American people would not support over time.

I felt that the difference between the Vietnam conflict and this one we just went through is that in Vietnam, we didn't have clear cut objectives. We didn't have a strategy for victory. And obviously, we didn't have, over time, the support of the American people. I didn't feel that the Iraqi challenge in any way could be equated to that in Vietnam. [MSNBC Hardball, 4/23/03]

Hazardous Runways

Very interesting! I don't how they do it on slippery outfits.

G.I. Joe

From this pic, looks like I need to see this movie!

Authentic Self

It seems that Luke MacFarlane's journey of authenticity has come to him coming out. I say good for him, but what was the reason to tell the press? Is it anyone business who he sleeps with or dates. Letting people (the public) into your personal life puts too much pressure on an already stressful situation.

Good luck Luke!

Brooklyn Flea Market

I finally get to the new flea market in Fort Green, Brooklyn and I forget my wallet. I couldn't even get a brownie! Luckily I didn't forget to take some shots of the scene. This flea market is the new Sunday destination for New Yorkers. I'll come back and make sure I bring my wallet. You never know what you may find.

Karma

Remember that post about texting instead of talking on phones. Well, it looks like my Blackberry is on it's last leg with my trackball not working. The only thing I can really do on it is talk.

Sprint said my replacement phone should be in by Friday so you only have two days!

just kidding!

Be Aware

My Aunt always tells me to watch out for the other side's opinion. Newscaster are not professors or experts in a history, etc. They are opinionated people that have been okay'd to be on TV. That's it. We should take what they "read" as words!

Goodbye Florida

Alas my time is coming to an end. It's time to head back to New York. To be honest, I need a few more days. I've been going so much lately in New York, I had been whipped up in a pace of getting a few hours of sleep, waking up and working all day. It's gotten old, very old.

I thought about getting older this weekend. I can see why Florida is a destination for lots of older people. There's something to be said for spending the latter part of your life in a beautiful climate. It's like giving yourself a treat after a life of hard work.

The question for myself is why wait...

Sunset

Yesterday I was talking and talking about going to the beach. Well, I waited until the last minute and went to the beach just as the sun was disappearing over the horizon. It was magical. I played with some setting on my old Sony camera and came out with this one. I have to say I like this one.

Being on the beach, listening to the surf and watching the sunset is a form of paradise for me. It was incredible! You really see the how small and insignificant you are next the the ocean. The ocean can be a humbling place.

(I feel I have to say I'm writing this post at 5am) I'm exhausted!
