Prayers go out to her

Hopefully Amy's getting the help she needs. Why do all the talented become so tormented?

The photo on the left shows this woman needs some help.

Hero

Ms. Nozizwe Madlala-Routledge was fired from her job for basically doing her job.

Politics have no place when it comes to health care. People who are sick need help and to politicize life or death means that lots of people without the right "mojo" will die. It's an outrage.

I hope people like Ms. Madlala-Routledge will continue to stand up and shout out atrocities of the poor and disadvantaged. How could someone fire someone for that? I know how, but with South Africa having 5.5 million people with HIV/AIDS. Something is wrong.

Here is the BBC Article.

Today Sucks

It doesn't take much to get people started on the "today is horrible" bandwagon. This morning in New York City it's pouring and gloomy, etc. etc. Not the best way to start the day, but things could be worse. We could be on the train sipping diet coke ;-)

Recently, I got a bigger umbrella and I'm wearing waterproof boots. So, I'm dry. Really, isn't that the most important problem to deal with when it's raining? To my co workers and people who are negative: You woke up this morning, things could be a lot worse. If you woke up at all, things are off to a good start.

Get some boots and an umbrella!

Capricorn in Prayer

I thought that this was inspiring.

Capricorn Horoscope for week of August 9, 2007
Verticle Oracle card Capricorn (December 22-January 19)
Certain religions whose names I won't mention have given prayer a bad name. It has come to be associated with sentimentality, desperation, delusion, greed, and wishful thinking. But I prefer to define prayer as an intention to align your emotions and thoughts with the highest possible good. Can you give that definition a whirl? I hope so. It's Big Wild Prayer Week, a time when you will have an extraordinary ability to get in sync with almost unimaginably catalytic currents of cosmic beauty and truth.

Pass the Diet Coke

It's 9:15am yesterday morning and I'm still sitting on the train between stops heading to work. We've been underground since 8am and I'm okay because I'm with my good friend and roommate.

Suddenly we hear a cry and a voice saying, "Oh my God" in Spanish. I look behind me and I see this lady collapsing. She probably thought we were going to die underground or something. We all felt for her but there was nothing anyone could do to help.

Then, out of the blue we hear, "pass this to her". We look and someone sends a diet coke to the crying woman. To my surprise, she quieted down like a baby. My friend and I laughed because of the diet coke being the item that calmed her down. It seemed like we were filming a commercial. It was good she got the diet coke because were still underground between stations for another twenty minutes.

I had never heard of a soft drink having this effect on someone. I'm going to try one for lunch today.

Morning Commute

Not sure if some of you heard about this, but the New York City Subway system was flooded and rush hour sent to a grinding halt. It took me three and a half hours to get to work.

I should have taken my camera! More stories to follow, but now I'm off to Chelsea to dinner with a friend. Italian...no sushi!! I'll let you know what I get.

Cheyenne Jackson Sighting

Cheyenne Jackson was in Starbucks. I wonder if he was headed out to the Xanadu. One day we're going to work together.

There I said it first.
