30 Boxes

30 Boxes is a website calendar program that I have found to be very useful. Check it out.

I needed a way to add things to my calendar. I just save the event to the website, subscribe to that calendar via iCal, sync to my blackberry and presto....it's everywhere I need it. If you know a better way, let me know.

Dreaming a better Dream

I love Oprah Winfrey. She's like an earth mother. Her show is about living your best life and you can't do that without dreaming a bigger dream for yourself. These are some things I want to put out in the universe.

  • Move to London/Europe/Austrailia (someplace that is totally foreign)
  • Back to School
  • Tour
Even to write this freaks me out a bit. It's the Capricorn in me. If you don't know anything about signs, here's a lil bit about me.

Seriously, life begins with movement. Judy can tell you that. I need to take that first step and goodness will flow.

Peace

I now pronounce you...brainless

Chuck and Larry is way before it's time. Before you can make fun of a situation, you've got to have some closure with the issue at hand. Are there any comedies about the middle passage? Nope, and there never will be.

Gay marriage is a okay to laugh at because it's with those people who dance in the street in June with no clothes on. They don't care, they're always ready for a good laugh.

I'd like to know who green lights this stuff? Does the writer's pitch consist of, "What do you get when you put gay marriage and firefighters from Brooklyn together?" I would think a porno, but looks like the writer(s) had other plans. The fact that it rose to #1 at the box office says more about our country than any poll could.

I found this article from a blogger on Huffington Post. My hats off to Joan Garry, very well said.

The Few the Proud...the denied

Does this make sense?

You fight for your country and your country denies you the help you need to recover. Looks like our soldiers are learning that only way to fight the US Government is through litigation and media attention. I hope they get ever cent their asking for.

Venus in Pisces

I got my chart done a while ago and found out my Venus (love planet) is in Pisces. Not the best place, but what can I do. This can give you some insight... read on.

Venus in Pisces

Venus in Pisces people project themselves as dreamy, soft-hearted partners. Everything about the way they flirt promises a lovely time. Theirs is an elusive charm -- they are sweetly playful, a little moody, and perhaps a little irregular. They appreciate romance and poetry, and they prefer to "feel out" both you and the relationship you share, so don't expect too much planning ahead. Their sensitivity can be a little misleading at times. Yes, they are sensitive folk, but lovers may find it maddening that this sensitivity is not only directed at them, but towards all of mankind.

Venus in Pisces men and women want you to know that their love is unconditional. They are unimpressed by your status, and love and accept you for all that you are inside. They love the underdog and are attracted to wayward folks, or those in need of a little help. With their romantic view of the world, they can be unreasonably attracted to states of suffering and martyrdom, so they easily get into the role of saving someone, or being saved. Unlike Venus in Libra, which thrives on equality, Venus in Pisces is actually turned on by inequality! They can be rather confusing and hard to pin down as they feel their way through their relationships. As much as they may want to, they find it hard to commit. Many do end up committing, however, at least on the surface.

Pleasing Venus in Pisces involves enjoying tender moments and romantic times with them. You won't always be able to count on them. In fact, you can be sure they will stretch the truth every once in a while. But remember they do this because they fear they might hurt you, and they can't bear to cause you any heartache. Try to understand them, although that's never an easy task considering the fact that they don't always know themselves. And, truth is, some Venus in Pisces privately have a love affair going with the idea of being misunderstood. Try to put up with their apparent lack of direction in the relationship -- they are so receptive and open to all possibilities that it is hard for them to commit to any one thing, idea, or even person. These intriguing partners will reward you with a love that is accepting and comes as close to unconditional as humans can get.

My Personal Ad Bio: "I will love you for you. I will accept you. Even if the rest of the world thinks you are unlovable, I will see you for what you really are."

Danielle and Nick

Big Brother is such a mind fuck.

Strangers (mostly) are thrown into a house and confined to a small space. When you're thrown into confined spaces, things become magnified. For example, Danielle and Nick. Two attractive people who have developed feelings for each other. In the real world that wouldn't matter too much, you'd just go and act on it. In this situation, Dani has a boyfriend back home in the real world.

My advice to Danielle and Nick, do what you need to do to play the game and remember that your life outside the BB house return once you leave. To Danielle's boyfriend, she's playing a game, get over it, this isn't real.

Claudio

I love Shakespeare. I call him the great dramatist with a tremendous use of language. Tonight I'm participating in a reading of Measure for Measure. It's technically a comedy, but it's a dark piece.

Claudio has gotten a woman pregnant and is sentenced to death. He knew all along that you had to be married (he was only engaged) in order to have children, but decided to have sex anyway. With someone new in office who's interested in upholding the laws, Claudio has been selected to be made an example of. So this proud man is put in restraints, taken around the city, thrown in jail and will be beheaded in three days.

At first Claudio seems to have come to peace with his death sentence, but when he learns that there maybe a chance to save his life, he revels his true feelings of fright and horror of being beheaded. He goes so low as to ask his sister to sleep with the man that has sentenced him.

Shakespeare is brilliant with how he writes his characters and their faults. How much does it take in order for your true self to be revealed? Who do you reveal that too?

Guess he got his wish.

Saturday, July 21 at 7:16am Cheney was in charge. He lost the power two hours later, but during that time I wonder how much damage was done.

Bryant Park

I'm waiting to meet up with some friends and decided to come to the park until it gets dark. It's a beautiful evening in NYC. It's about 75 degrees with a cool breeze and lots of beautiful people around.

I thought about seeing Broken English tonight. I may see the 10:30pm show. We'll see.
