The Few the Proud...the denied

Does this make sense?

You fight for your country and your country denies you the help you need to recover. Looks like our soldiers are learning that only way to fight the US Government is through litigation and media attention. I hope they get ever cent their asking for.

Venus in Pisces

I got my chart done a while ago and found out my Venus (love planet) is in Pisces. Not the best place, but what can I do. This can give you some insight... read on.

Venus in Pisces

Venus in Pisces people project themselves as dreamy, soft-hearted partners. Everything about the way they flirt promises a lovely time. Theirs is an elusive charm -- they are sweetly playful, a little moody, and perhaps a little irregular. They appreciate romance and poetry, and they prefer to "feel out" both you and the relationship you share, so don't expect too much planning ahead. Their sensitivity can be a little misleading at times. Yes, they are sensitive folk, but lovers may find it maddening that this sensitivity is not only directed at them, but towards all of mankind.

Venus in Pisces men and women want you to know that their love is unconditional. They are unimpressed by your status, and love and accept you for all that you are inside. They love the underdog and are attracted to wayward folks, or those in need of a little help. With their romantic view of the world, they can be unreasonably attracted to states of suffering and martyrdom, so they easily get into the role of saving someone, or being saved. Unlike Venus in Libra, which thrives on equality, Venus in Pisces is actually turned on by inequality! They can be rather confusing and hard to pin down as they feel their way through their relationships. As much as they may want to, they find it hard to commit. Many do end up committing, however, at least on the surface.

Pleasing Venus in Pisces involves enjoying tender moments and romantic times with them. You won't always be able to count on them. In fact, you can be sure they will stretch the truth every once in a while. But remember they do this because they fear they might hurt you, and they can't bear to cause you any heartache. Try to understand them, although that's never an easy task considering the fact that they don't always know themselves. And, truth is, some Venus in Pisces privately have a love affair going with the idea of being misunderstood. Try to put up with their apparent lack of direction in the relationship -- they are so receptive and open to all possibilities that it is hard for them to commit to any one thing, idea, or even person. These intriguing partners will reward you with a love that is accepting and comes as close to unconditional as humans can get.

My Personal Ad Bio: "I will love you for you. I will accept you. Even if the rest of the world thinks you are unlovable, I will see you for what you really are."

Danielle and Nick

Big Brother is such a mind fuck.

Strangers (mostly) are thrown into a house and confined to a small space. When you're thrown into confined spaces, things become magnified. For example, Danielle and Nick. Two attractive people who have developed feelings for each other. In the real world that wouldn't matter too much, you'd just go and act on it. In this situation, Dani has a boyfriend back home in the real world.

My advice to Danielle and Nick, do what you need to do to play the game and remember that your life outside the BB house return once you leave. To Danielle's boyfriend, she's playing a game, get over it, this isn't real.

Claudio

I love Shakespeare. I call him the great dramatist with a tremendous use of language. Tonight I'm participating in a reading of Measure for Measure. It's technically a comedy, but it's a dark piece.

Claudio has gotten a woman pregnant and is sentenced to death. He knew all along that you had to be married (he was only engaged) in order to have children, but decided to have sex anyway. With someone new in office who's interested in upholding the laws, Claudio has been selected to be made an example of. So this proud man is put in restraints, taken around the city, thrown in jail and will be beheaded in three days.

At first Claudio seems to have come to peace with his death sentence, but when he learns that there maybe a chance to save his life, he revels his true feelings of fright and horror of being beheaded. He goes so low as to ask his sister to sleep with the man that has sentenced him.

Shakespeare is brilliant with how he writes his characters and their faults. How much does it take in order for your true self to be revealed? Who do you reveal that too?

Guess he got his wish.

Saturday, July 21 at 7:16am Cheney was in charge. He lost the power two hours later, but during that time I wonder how much damage was done.

Bryant Park

I'm waiting to meet up with some friends and decided to come to the park until it gets dark. It's a beautiful evening in NYC. It's about 75 degrees with a cool breeze and lots of beautiful people around.

I thought about seeing Broken English tonight. I may see the 10:30pm show. We'll see.

Capricorn Horoscope for week of July 19, 2007

Verticle Oracle card
"Dear Rob: Last night I dreamt that I finally met the soulmate I've been looking for all these years. We were making love in a limousine that was driving us to the church where we would be married. Then a terrible thing happened. Right there in my arms, my perfect lover turned into a toothless, stinking geezer whose sparse white hair was falling out in my hands. I shrieked and ran out of the car. Can you interpret my dream for me? -Crushed Capricorn." Dear Crushed: Your dream may mean that your romantic ideals have become outmoded; your long-standing fantasies about what constitutes your perfect lover are no longer relevant. It's probably time to adjust your definitions.

Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow

...that I must say goodnight.

This post is inspired by a post from a new friend. It evoked this "Got til it's Gone" (janet reference) sentiment.

It was 1999 and a good friend of mine and I went to a singles party in Maryland. I was reluctant to go at first, but my friend D thought it would be fun. When we walked in we were given a color and a number. Almost immediately D and I were separated from each other because we're in different groups. I'm on the green "team" and he's on the white team. (things are really coming back to me)

We're told that the reason that we're being separated is because we will be transferring from room to room with our team. I don't recall how many rooms his house had, but there were many. Each room had a different theme. Some would be discussion rooms and others would be for twister, taboo or eating/relaxing.

Before we moved to a room we had to get up in front of the crowd of about 30 strong and say something about yourself. I mentioned something about being a Capricorn...lol (I always do that).

The first room I was in was a "discussion" room. We read a topic, which I don't recall, and discussed it. I remember this cute guy with great lips sitting across from me. He was very opininated, a definite plus in my book. I thought I saw him checking me out, but I wasn't sure.

Now the rule was if you saw someone you liked you wrote down their color and number and gave it to the host who had your contact information next to your color and number. The only way you would be contacted would be if they wrote you down too. Well, I was interested and listed him. That was huge for me at the time.

It was a holiday weekend I think Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (which is around my birthday). I remember being in my car and my cellphone going off (Nokia, if you care). It was him. I was shocked. We spoke about that evening and when we'd get together. Our first date was a day later; we had pizza and talked. It was great.

We dated for about three months and I'm not clear as to why we didn't continue to date, but he did mention that when I got my computer (AMD K6 320) he saw less of me....which wasn't true. What was true was that I was planning to move to NYC and he knew that. I think we knew that neither of us wanted to get hurt. Looking back that was just an excuse.

This guy still has a place in my heart. I'm a pretty dramatic person and love a good presentation. One day I had gotten off work and he asked if I wanted to come over. Well, when I got over his place. He had left the door open and had lit tea lights all over the apartment. It was a moment I won't forget because I knew he did it for me.

Just a few weeks ago he called to see if he saw me on TV (it wasn't me). I felt he left this flirty message about my smile, but he's a big flirt so I don't know what it meant. I called him back and we decided that we would get together when I go back home in August. I'm looking forward to seeing him.

We are two different people (he has a boyfriend) and I've grown and changed since then, but we still keep in touch. Even now I remember what a special man he was and how he was the only reason, at the time, to stay in my hometown and not move to New York City.

PBS...too expensive??? RANT

The United States of America is the richest country in the world and we have to cut PBS' federal subsidy because we need to balance the budget? It's 420 million dollars??? Again, we have no problem pouring trillions into Iraq, but we can't find 420 million dollars? Bullcrap!!

Sometimes the only culture that some people are exposed to is on PBS? From Broadway to concerts, PBS is something that should unquestionably remain for the people. I'm fortunate because I live in New York City, the cultural mecca of the United States, but most Americans don't.

Shame on Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-Colorado
